Our Trip to Utah

Last minute we decided to go to Utah and literally we bought our tickets at 4:30 and our flight was leaving at 6:30 and we got there at 6:30 and thank goodness the flight was delayed 20 mins so we made it. We had a blast with my family and it was really fun because my aunt and uncle came from FL and she has MS so she never travels that far. I know my dad was super happy because he got to be with both of his sisters. it was fun hangout with everyone and go skiing with my family and cousins. Ethan loves the snow and wanted to play in it the whole time. Luke was sick so we didn't take him out very much when we were there but it fun to get away for a short little trip it wasn't a vacation because our kids are with us but we had so much fun.

Ethan is Potty Trained!!!!

Ethan is Potty trained. YEAH!!!!!! One day after a bath he didn't want to put on a diaper and he said "mom I don't want to wear a diaper anymore I want to to be potty trained" I have no idea where he got that and I wasn't planning on potty training him for a few more months. I new he was ready but I just kept putting it off it was easy for me to change his diapers. But we went to Target got a seat for the potty bought some stickers for his potty chart and bought some M&Ms also we bought lots of juice boxes. The next morning we woke up and I had him teach his cookie monster how to go potty and he even washed the cookie monsters hands then he was ready to do it as well. All I have to say he was so easy to potty train. He still to this day hasn't had an accident in his bed during his nap or at nigh time. We have never put him in pull ups at night and he has been great. I could count how many accidents he has had since we potty trained him. Its been about 2 months now and he has been GREAT. It was to easy so I don't know what I am going to do when one of my children struggle with the whole potty training thing.

Ethans Accident

I forgot to write about what happen one Sunday morning. It was the Sunday after Christmas and we had church at 1:00 so I would put Ethan down early. Well Ethan woke up and I was getting ready in my bathroom and my husband was on the bed and Ethan was of course running around like a wild man. The next thing I new I heard a huge noise in my room. I new instantly what it was and I was afraid of what I was going to see. I ran in the room and saw both of my dressers and our big old TV flat on the floor and I saw my son Ethan on the floor. I new he wasn't dead because he was crying but I was afraid to get him off the floor I didn't know if every bone was broken. My husband picked him up and I was on the floor in shock and still shaking. I don't know how but he only got a bloody nose and black eye. He cried for about 3 hours on and off on me and falling asleep. He was so shaken up and so was his mother. I know that this could have been something horrible but we are so incredible blessed that it was nothing more than a bloody nose and blue eye.
FYI but house is completely earthquaked proof nothing is coming down.
This face of Ethan doesn't do him justice because his face was covered in blood.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!

Can you believe it I am posting another blog and I think it has been less than a month. That doesn't happen very often. We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. My dad came up to Seattle and spent the holidays with us. We loved having him here and the kids were really sad when he left. Especially Ethan he started crying but then I told him we were going to have a play date and he stopped but we do miss having family around. This is my 2nd time celebrating the holidays by our self. I am really starting to enjoy it and I love starting our own family tradition's.
We started Dec. 1st and read a Christmas story every night until Christmas. We did all sorts of fun things we went to Bellveue and we saw snowflake lane. That was really cute because fake snow feel and the were people dressed up as Nutcrackers and they were the band it was really cute. Then we went and saw some lights on Lake Washington, and went to Seattle to see the lights and the trains they had set up. We made lots of fun treats and cookies for Santa. We also made a ginger bread house and had a big dinner on Christmas Eve. I was done cooking for awhile after Christmas Eve. I made cinnamon rolls but you make them the night before and then put them in the oven the next day so I really didn't cook for a few days. I love the holidays but I really did get worn out of cooking. We all got to open up one gift and our PJ's on Christmas Eve. I love watching the kids open there gifts. Really just Ethan Luke is still a little to little to get it but Ethan gets it a little bit more now so it makes is a lot of fun. We really tried our hardest to help him now it is Jesus Birthday and all day he was saying it was Jesus Birthday. It was cute I still don't think he gets it but we are trying. Christmas day was great to watch Ethan come down the stairs and see want Santa brought him he was Super excited. I wish I had more pictures but we don't we have more video than pictures. Luke didn't last that long before he went back down for his 1st nap. The next day everyone went with me to the mall so I could get some Christmas decorations and then Brett and I took Ethan to see Alvin and the chipmunks. That was a lot of fun we had a huge thing of popcorn and drink. They were bigger than Ethan but he had to hold it in his lap and he sat there with the popcorn and ate the popcorn the whole movie and drank a ton. let me just tell you it was Diet Coke because my husband wanted it and Brett got Ethan a little water cup. I told him there is no way he is going to want his little water cup and not your huge drink and guess what mom was right. It was a lot of fun to take him to the movies that was the first time and we had a blast.
New Years Eve was great we ordered pizza and we celebrated New Years early with my kids and my Dad. The kids go down early and so does my dad so we left when they all went down and celebrated New Years with some people from Brett's work. It was fun but I can't stay up late anymore. I don't know how I did it in college.
Now my dad is gone and Christmas decorations are down and light are off its sad its back to real life and making and setting new goals for the year. Ethan still wants to see lights when we drive in the evening and I have to remind him that Christmas is over.... We are excited about 2010 my number 1 goal is to get back to Southern California to be around family. My husband doesn't seem to think its a goal we can accomplish. He seems to think we are going to be here for another few years. I guess we aren't on the same page huh?
