Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!

Can you believe it I am posting another blog and I think it has been less than a month. That doesn't happen very often. We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. My dad came up to Seattle and spent the holidays with us. We loved having him here and the kids were really sad when he left. Especially Ethan he started crying but then I told him we were going to have a play date and he stopped but we do miss having family around. This is my 2nd time celebrating the holidays by our self. I am really starting to enjoy it and I love starting our own family tradition's.
We started Dec. 1st and read a Christmas story every night until Christmas. We did all sorts of fun things we went to Bellveue and we saw snowflake lane. That was really cute because fake snow feel and the were people dressed up as Nutcrackers and they were the band it was really cute. Then we went and saw some lights on Lake Washington, and went to Seattle to see the lights and the trains they had set up. We made lots of fun treats and cookies for Santa. We also made a ginger bread house and had a big dinner on Christmas Eve. I was done cooking for awhile after Christmas Eve. I made cinnamon rolls but you make them the night before and then put them in the oven the next day so I really didn't cook for a few days. I love the holidays but I really did get worn out of cooking. We all got to open up one gift and our PJ's on Christmas Eve. I love watching the kids open there gifts. Really just Ethan Luke is still a little to little to get it but Ethan gets it a little bit more now so it makes is a lot of fun. We really tried our hardest to help him now it is Jesus Birthday and all day he was saying it was Jesus Birthday. It was cute I still don't think he gets it but we are trying. Christmas day was great to watch Ethan come down the stairs and see want Santa brought him he was Super excited. I wish I had more pictures but we don't we have more video than pictures. Luke didn't last that long before he went back down for his 1st nap. The next day everyone went with me to the mall so I could get some Christmas decorations and then Brett and I took Ethan to see Alvin and the chipmunks. That was a lot of fun we had a huge thing of popcorn and drink. They were bigger than Ethan but he had to hold it in his lap and he sat there with the popcorn and ate the popcorn the whole movie and drank a ton. let me just tell you it was Diet Coke because my husband wanted it and Brett got Ethan a little water cup. I told him there is no way he is going to want his little water cup and not your huge drink and guess what mom was right. It was a lot of fun to take him to the movies that was the first time and we had a blast.
New Years Eve was great we ordered pizza and we celebrated New Years early with my kids and my Dad. The kids go down early and so does my dad so we left when they all went down and celebrated New Years with some people from Brett's work. It was fun but I can't stay up late anymore. I don't know how I did it in college.
Now my dad is gone and Christmas decorations are down and light are off its sad its back to real life and making and setting new goals for the year. Ethan still wants to see lights when we drive in the evening and I have to remind him that Christmas is over.... We are excited about 2010 my number 1 goal is to get back to Southern California to be around family. My husband doesn't seem to think its a goal we can accomplish. He seems to think we are going to be here for another few years. I guess we aren't on the same page huh?

I hope you don't mind me peeking in. I found you on Amanda's blog. It was fun to see your pictures. We sure are glad to have you around even if you miss CA.

I will have to get your email address and send you an invite to our blog. Take care
